The Knoxville Girls Bowling season was all about close calls and like the boys, being competitive in most of the dual meets. The Panthers twice were within less than 30 pins in the final tally. Knoxville averaged 1,922 pins per meet in the regular season. Coach Shaun Renard tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the girls were close in many of their duals.

Renard: “We had several girls put up some amazing scores. At the state qualifier we put up good numbers but were just outplayed. Ciara Heffron, Charlye Willis and others did well, but when it came down to it, we were simply outplayed.”

In two meets the Panthers were within four pins and then two weeks later won by just 30 pins. Renard says that goes to a spare pick up in a couple of frames or a strike instead of a spare at times. Most of the team returns for next season as the Panthers will lose two seniors Ciara Heffron and Charlye Willis.
