The burn bans requested by the Indianola Fire Department and New Virginia Fire Departments have been granted by the Office of the State Fire Marshal, and are in effect until further notice.
A statement from Warren County Emergency Management Coordinator Troy Bass follows:
Dear Warren County Community Members,
As we navigate through dry weather conditions with low relative humidity, it’s crucial to come together and address a pressing concern: the heightened risk of wildfires. The combination of these factors poses a significant threat to our environment and safety. Dry vegetation acts as fuel for potential fires, which can rapidly spiral out of control. We implore everyone to refrain from burning anything outdoors until conditions improve. Your cooperation is vital in safeguarding our communities and natural landscapes. Let’s unite in responsibility and take proactive measures to prevent devastating wildfires. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this critical matter.
Please stay safe,
Troy Bass, Director
Warren County Emergency Management
