Another dry month in February after impactful winter weather in January was not enough to significantly improve a long-term drought across the state. Climatologist Justin Glisan says it will take several months of above average precipitation to fully pull Iowans out of a multiple year precipitation deficit. Predictions of above normal precipitation in March will certainly help if that pans out, especially as the growing season is drawing much closer after several records for warmth in February.
