The Malpass Brothers, with special guests Lori King and Junction 63, will perform at the Knoxville Performing Arts Center on Saturday.
It will be a performance of classic country sounds from the Malpass Brothers and unique modern bluegrass music from Lori King and Junction 63. The Malpass brothers play a unique style of traditional country music that stems from their musical journeys that started at a young age. The band started to rise to fame as they were the opening act for Merle Haggard for seven years total. The group writes their own music and plays over 150 shows every year. Chris Malpass tells KNIA/KRLS Radio that he is excited for their performance in Knoxville, and that he enjoys shows in smaller venues.
“Small venues are very intimate and they are the places that this music was born, and done in its heyday, the smaller theaters. I always like coming to the towns, getting to see the local stuff, see what makes the town click, and getting to meet the people. Small town people in America are really cool to be around. We are excited to get to share our music there, and at that venue. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it.”
Tickets for this concert are $35 in advance and $45 at the door with the show starting at 7:00 pm and the doors opening at 6:00. For ticket information you can call 641-799-1442.
