Kicking off his senior season in style, Pella Christian’s Trevor Veenstra dominated the competition in the Class 2A shot put at the Iowa Track Coaches Association Indoor Championships on Thursday. Veenstra’s throw of 57’2.5” won him the event, while outpacing the field by over seven feet. Trevor’s mark came on his second throw of the season, and his distance surpassed the Drake Relays qualifying Blue Standard. Competing as the Eagles lone entry in the meet, his finish in the shot put was good enough to earn Pella Christian 21st place in Class 2A.
