Knoxville continues to see strong volunteer interest for RAGBRAI as plans continue to come together for the overnight stop in July.

This past week, the city held a RAGBRAI volunteers meeting at the Knoxville Public Library for those who reached out about volunteering, and the local RAGBRAI executive committee attended meetings in Des Moines all day Thursday to continue their preparations. Knoxville City Manager Heather Ussery says volunteers are crucial for this event and they’ve had dozens of people interested so far.

“It is very important to make sure we have several volunteers, enough volunteers, and different volunteers so we’re not wearing out the same people over and over for these big events. I think there are approximately 80 volunteers that are already signed up to volunteer for RAGBRAI. Talking with the RAGBRAI staff they said it is huge for us to have that many people interested in being involved, and helping with it already. We are very happy with that and are excited people are ready to support those events, and planning for them, and overall its success for the community.”

The stop in Knoxville will be Wednesday, July 24th. If you are interested in volunteering for RAGBRAI you can follow this link
