The Norwalk girls track team competed in Friday’s IATC Indoor Championships, held inside the Lied Recreation Center at Iowa State University. Waukee Northwest dominated the Class 4A division with a winning score of 111 points and Indianola placed second with 43. Norwalk did not score.
Senior Hailey Gear was the Warriors’ top performer on the day, including a 14th-place finish in the 60-meter dash. Gear’s time was 8.33 seconds. Gear also led off the Warriors’ 15th-place 4×100 relay and 17th-place sprint medley. The 4×100 team also included Lily Kingsley, Dani Peters and Jillian Hammond. The sprint medley featured Gear, Ava Norem, Hammond and Cambry Livingston.
