Simpson’s Spencer Moon earned his 2nd All-American Honor of the weekend on Saturday, while Ulysses Patterson joined his teammate being honored for their finishes at the NCAA DIII Championships.
Moon earned 2nd Team All-American with a 14th place finish in the 3000m with a time of 8:22.20. Moon becomes the first athlete in Storm history to win multiple All-American awards at a single meet since the trio of Lonnie Balmer, Marek Wensel, and Damon Youmans at the 1992 outdoor championships in the 4×100 and 4×400 meter relays.
Ulysses Patterson came into the day 14th in the heptathlon, but climbed up to a 9th place finish with 4,918 points, breaking the school record for the third time this season.
Lara Kallem finished 19th in the women’s 5,000 meters, clocking a time of 17:23.25.
Simpson Track and FIeld now begins their outdoor season.
