Local high school students participated in the Iowa High School Speech Association State Contests on Saturday.

At Cedar Rapids Xavier High School, Pella had 35 participants perform, with 30 receiving overall division one ratings. 12 of the 14 individual entries from Pella Christian earned overall division one ratings, while 17 of Pleasantville’s 23 participants got division one ratings. PCM had three of their eight individual entries receive overall division one ratings, while Twin Cedars’ Kadyn Boyd earned a division one rating in storytelling.

At ADM High School, six of Southeast Warren’s eight individuals received overall division one ratings. Carlisle had three of the six individuals earn division one ratings, while Norwalk had two of their six participants receive overall division one ratings.
