Work on the west alley and parking lot on the downtown Indianola square begins tomorrow, and will be closed to the public to continue the Downtown Square Reconstruction Project. The project includes Indianola Municipal Utilities finishing the placement of a conduit for future undergrounding of the current overhead electrical lines, and natural gas services will be relocated by MidAmerican. Once the utilities portion is complete, repaving of the two areas will begin.
It is anticipated that all work will be completed, and the west alley and parking lot reopened to the public, by early-to-mid July.
