The Indianola girls track and field team has competed in two events so far this season, and are early in the process of finding out what the best lineup will be near the end of the season. Head coach Morgan Singleton tells KNIA Sports putting athletes in events they may not be comfortable with always provides clarity on who might be good in a relay team or who could benefit from getting more track time.
“I always tell the girls to be ready for anything with the lineup early in the season, because the coaches and I like to be really creative with the lineups. Just trying to get them in a lot of different events just to see what we’ve got in any situation. So thinking about which girls are going to fit best where is something we as a coaching staff are really working on, and building fitness early in the season.”
The Indians hit the track again Saturday at Central College.
