Fresh off his third victory of the year and reaching the 200 career strikeout milestone, senior Trey Castile has been named the American Rivers Conference Pitcher of the Week as well as Male Athlete of the Week. This is Castile’s first pitcher of the week honor from the conference.
Castile struck out a career-high 11 batters in a complete game, shutout victory over Saint Joseph’s. He allowed just three hits and one walk in the victory, improving to 3-0 on the season.
With his 10th strikeout of the game, Castile joined former teammate Brady Held as the only pitchers in Simpson history to throw 200 career strikeouts. He currently ranks second in the conference with a 0.47 ERA.
