Pella Historical Museums and the Tulip Time Steering Committee are calling out in need of volunteers for the 89th festival May 2nd through the 4th.
Executive Director Jessi Galligan says they are in need of residents willing to support a variety of efforts across the three-day celebration and for functions at the Pella Historical Village.
Additionally, Billie Rhamy with the Steering Committee says barricades are located around the downtown area to restrict vehicle traffic. To support the three days of Tulip Time, they need 180 people to work the barricades.
Workers would need to fill a 3-hour slot at their assigned barricade. Each 3-hour shift pays $30. Individuals may choose to donate their earnings to charity if they would prefer to volunteer.
Those who have a group that could use this for fundraising and would like to staff an entire barricade (15 spots) as a group, that is an option. This could include school teams, clubs, mission trips, work or family groups, or other charitable efforts.
