Pella High School’s girls wrestling program continued to garner postseason honors for their work off the mat. Outgoing seniors Emmalee Spurgeon and Ellison Ritzert were selected as U.S. Marine Corps/National Wrestling Coaches Association Character and Leadership All-Americans.

Additionally, Pella girls wrestling had eight Scholar All-Americans, including Spurgeon, Ritzert, Macy Schroeder, Serenity Turner, Lyndon Norton, Elizabeth Thomas, Elaine Babcock, and Cami Smith.

The Scholar All-America Award recognizes wrestlers who have demonstrated excellence in the classroom and the Character & Leadership All-America Award is for athletes who have shown exceptional leadership skills and are of sound character.
