The 2024 Red Rock StartUP! Pitch Contest at the new Cordova Park Office Building is coming up in April. 

The competition allows entrepreneurs and small business owners a chance to start a new business or expand their current business. According to Marion County Development Executive Director Carla Eysink, four businesses will be taking part in the live pitch contest at 5:30 pm on  Thursday, April 18th. Eysink says that Marion County Development is in the process of pairing the participating businesses with coaches, to help strengthen their presentations for the live event.

“So, they work with a coach over this time period, from when they’re accepted into round two of the pitch event, to do the live event. They work with the coach to help develop their pitch. They have five minutes at the pitch event to pitch their business and then we follow that up with 10 minutes of questions. We have judges that are from outside of Marion County that are experienced in business development and business startup, and so there’ll be quizzing them on some things. So, our coaches are really going to be working with them over the next month to develop that. ”
