A lot of high goals and expectations for both the Knoxville Boys and Girls Golf Squads are on the table this spring. For the boys, they are looking to get back at the State Tournament for the 3rd straight year and not only place high, but possibly bring back the gold trophy. The Panthers were State Runners-Up last year and bring back the core of the team in Evan Smith, Carson Uitermarkt, Noah Keefer, and Brady Rozeboom. While the Panthers will be experienced, they will have to do most of their work on the road this season, which they likely would rather do anyway to get experience at other courses. They do have a few home meets this season as they will host a triangular on April 5th, followed by a dual with Van Meter on April 16th and then the Panther Invitational on April 27th. The Panthers do play host at the South Central Conference meet, which is being held at Edmundson Golf Course in Oskaloosa on May 6th. For the girls The Panthers will again be led by Faith Rozeboom. Knoxville only has two appearances at Pine Knolls this spring, an early season triangular on April 8th, and a late season quad on May 10th. Listen for an interview with Boys and Girls Head Coach Barry Smith on a future Hy-Vee Radio Coaches Corner with airs at 9:00am on Saturday on KNIA/KRLS.
