The Marion County Special Olympics Dance Team competed at Iowa City West High School on Saturday, March 9th. Team members included Ben Heywood, Joe Morgan, Marissa Schletzbaum and Michelle Turnage. The team, coached by Megan Van Heiden and Julia Stender, brought home a third place finish in the competition with their Sweet Dreams-themed routine. This was their seventh appearance competing in the Special Olympics Spring Classic Dance Competition. The group also performed their award-winning routine at the Pleasantville High School Dance Team’s Spring Show on Tuesday, March 5th.
