Extra traffic enforcement continues this weekend for the St. Patrick’s Day holiday and the ongoing spring break for many students across the state.

Captain Paul Haase with the Pella Police department says officers both locally and across the region will be out looking for traffic violations as part of the Iowa Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau Special Traffic Enforcement Program. Haase says they will be searching for those driving under the influence, and he encourages party-goers to plan ahead if they plan to drink alcohol.

The extra traffic enforcement continues through March 21st, with additional waves coming up in April.
