The first few weeks of practice for the Knoxville Girls Track and Field Squad has been outside, which is not always the case. The Panthers and the coaching staff is happy to get the early season chance to work on the track instead of inside the school. Coach Michael Splavec tells KNIA/KRLS Sports physically and mentally the girls are already looking better.

Splavec: “We’ve seen a lot less early season nagging injuries when we’ve been outside rather than inside. Our distance runners and even our sprinters to be on the track and going over the exchange zones.”

The Panthers get their outdoor season underway today at Simpson College. Knoxville will take a partial squad to the meet.
