It is another large group out for girls track and field at Melcher-Dallas this spring. While the Saints will not have an important piece to the puzzle as junior Addi Wadle is not participating due to a health issue, Coach Amy Stuart tells KNIA/KRLS Sports depth is actually a little better than last season and she has girls wanting to try different events.

Stuart: “Pretty much have been able to fill relays, and longer relays haven’t been able to fill. I have a few hurdlers that I haven’t had in recent years, and we’ll try to fill relays where we haven’t had when we’re not very deep.”

As far as distance events Stuart adds Hailey Stegman, who ended being her lead cross country runner in some events last season, plus freshman Trista Hansaker was also on the cross country squad and will run several distance events. Gabby Overgaard will lead the throwing events and Stuart adds she will also be in a few relay events. The Saints will start their season in a few weeks.
