The Indianola School Board reviewed the bid for the Indianola High School Renovation and Addition Project for $67,566,900 from Edge Commercial at their meeting Monday, a major step in the project that was approved by voters in a bond issue in 2022. Superintendent Ted Ihns tells KNIA News the bid was within 1.5% of the engineer’s estimate, and the board decided to go with some of the additional options for construction.
“We added the alternates for the storage underneath the administrative office because you always need storage, the second piece will be finishing up six classrooms which at the time of the bidding process we weren’t sure if we were going to get that done, and the last piece was finishing up the courtyard of the academic wing area.”
Edge Commercial was selected out of a bid process that included four companies, with Edge being the second lowest bid.
