A pair of zoning changes received a first reading of approval from the Pella City Council at their meeting Tuesday that moves a process forward that could ultimately lead to a new Kwik Trip location. Two public hearings were scheduled for two zoning changes related to a parcel of agricultural and light industrial property, switching to community commercial.
Several resolutions also on the agenda were approved, including a 28E Agreement with Cross Mental Health for a law enforcement crisis intervention program, a preliminary plat for the Epcon Subdivision, scheduling a public hearing and bid opening for a sanitary sewer lining project, an engineering services agreement for West 9th Street reconstruction, and to accept the fiscal year 2023 audit.
A policy and planning session included brief discussion about a change order for engineering services related to a proposed indoor recreation facility and expanded dental and vision benefit options for city employees.
