A new leader is calling the shots at the Melcher-Dallas Boys Track and Field program this spring. Logan Templeton takes over for longtime coach John Suntken, who stepped away after last year. Templeton only has 12 guys out for track this season, so a premium is being put on individual performance rather than a team score. Templeton tells KNIA Sports he has a few 400 runners and longer races that could shine this season.

Templeton: “We’re going to be individual based, and by the end of the season get their PRs down. Cael Caikoski is one 400 runner that could get to state and we have a few others that by the end of the season could grab a state bid, but just putting a premium on individual results this year.”

The Saints begin the outdoor portion of the season on April 1st at Meskwaki Settlement.
