Of their 15 games this season, the Pella Christian boys soccer squad’s schedule features 11 schools in higher classes. 

The Eagles, who are a part of Class 1A, have four matches against teams in Class 2A and seven games against 3A teams. Among the seven games against 3A teams, are Little Hawkeye Conference matches against Newton, Norwalk, Dallas Center-Grimes, Indianola, Pella, and Oskaloosa. Getting to see quality opponents throughout the season, Pella Christian head coach Mike Vander Molen says those games will provide the team with learning opportunities.

“It’s just an opportunity when you see those better 3A teams and you see Pella, DCG, Indianola, or Norwalk, those types of teams, to see how they move, how they share the ball, how they like to attack on offense, how they like to stay compact on defense. And so, we can use them as an example of something we’re trying to progress to.”

The Eagles open the season on Thursday, March 28th at home against PCM.
