The Pella School Board will review the upcoming fiscal year budget at their meeting Monday. A public hearing has been scheduled to review the proposed tax rate, which is set to be steady for the fifth consecutive fiscal year at $14.60 per $1,000 of valuation. A certified budget presentation will be given ahead of official approval. The board will also consider approval of the budget guarantee resolution, which allows the district to levy general fund uses for one year after declining enrollment. The agenda also includes consideration of a new Pella Middle School baseball team, sharing agreements with Knoxville, Pleasantville, Lynnville-Sully, and North Mahaska, a construction update, and policy changes suggested by the Iowa Association of School Boards. The Pella School Board meeting begins at 5:30 Monday evening in the Pella High School library and can be viewed online.
