While there were graduation losses absorbed by the Knoxville Boys Tennis Squad last season, most of the players that were on varsity last year are back and according to Coach Kevin Wadle are improved. Wadle adds a few new players are out this year to give tennis a try.
Wadle: “Top returning player this year will be Henry Picard, he was our number two player last year, and Ely Bumgardner, also Jack Felton, a junior and then Ethan Russell and Jimmy McCormick will be competing for varsity spots.”
Wadle adds Jake Williamson is also a player he says could challenge for a varsity spot. The Panthers get their season started on Tuesday with a trip to North Polk.
