pella-city-council-2023

A two-day work session for the Pella City Council focused on the upcoming fiscal year budget concluded Tuesday night.

After day one focused on a proposed increase in property taxes and the Capital Improvement and Long-Term Facilities Plans, day two featured several presentations from department heads in Public Works, including water, wastewater, streets, the airport, Pella Fiber, city facilities, and City Hall.

Some of the major road projects prioritized for fiscal year 2025 include reconstruction of Oskaloosa Street from SE 16th Street to 240th Avenue and a back-to-brick project on Broadway Street from University Street to Independence Street.

The final portion of the meeting was a recap of the two day session and an overview of what steps are next as the Pella City Council considers formal approval of the $69.5 million budget in April.
