The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.

The meeting started with an EMS timeline discussion and a vote passed to remove Chair Mark Raymie from the ad-hoc EMS advisory committee. The board then approved the contract for the Roberts Creek Cabins project which will cost just over $1.5 million. The board also approved disposition of part of the former VA campus to the the City of Knoxville, and Knoxville City Manager Heather Ussery said at the meeting that the city plans to use this land for more housing.

“The city at this time has received two purchase offers and letters of intent from two different developers for this block, which is the former doctors quarters, on the south portion of West Pleasant. They would be looking at subdividing this 6.7 acres into two different parcels. One would be four 48 units of senior housing, and the other would be 50 market rate rental apartments.”

The board then approved annexation of county land into the City of Knoxville for a potential new Kading housing development.
