A Pleasantville man was arrested Monday on second degree sexual abuse charges.
At approximately 3 pm on Thursday, January 11th, a Pleasantville police officer was contacted by the Department of Human Services regarding an alleged case of sexual abuse that occurred on January 9th. It was alleged that a male, identified as 29-year-old Luke Sanchez, had committed multiple sexual acts with a juvenile under the age of 14 at his residence in Pleasantville. The officer investigating the case executed multiple search warrants for Sanchez’s cell phone, residence, and DNA, and the evidence collected was transported to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) laboratory for examination. The DCI confirmed through DNA testing that both Sanchez’s and the victim’s DNA were found among the evidence.
Sanchez is charged with three counts of second degree sexual abuse, all of which are Class B felonies.
