Warren County Emergency Management Coordinator Troy Bass tells KNIA News south central Iowa has been the site of multiple, high-damage tornados and derechos over the last several years, and recommends those in the area to be on high alert during severe weather events and to pay attention to the weather and alerts from local emergency personnel.
KNIA/KRLS Radio hosted a program in conjunction with the statewide tornado drill earlier this week featuring local first responders, meteorologists, and emergency management coordinators.
