Both Twin Cedars boys and girls track and field squads will head their separate ways tonight as the girls go to the DeWitt Relays at Clarke while the boys will travel to Belle Plaine. This would have been the girls 2nd meet of the season but Tuesday’s event at Belle Plaine was canceled so this was the Sabers debut meet. Coach Cam Parker tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he is looking for his girls to continually improve their times and distances and if they win an event, he will take that, too.

Parker: “If we win that’s great and I hope we do. But if their times come down, throws, and jumps go farther then that’s the goal I have for them, and they can use track and field to get ready for softball, volleyball or whatever sport they’ll participate in.”

Parker says in most meets, his team likely will not challenge for the team title as he has lower than normal numbers. The DeWitt Relays are set to get underway at 4:30, while the Belle Plaine meet is set to start at 4:15.
