A Knoxville man was sentenced to 95 days in jail Thursday for stalking and violation of a no contact order.

Seventy-two-year-old Paul Slofkowsky was initially arrested in 2021 for a charge of felony stalking. The victim stated at the time of the initial arrest that the defendant allegedly drove by and slowed down in front of their residence multiple times every day. The victim also said Slofkowsky would watch the victim at local businesses, keeping his distance but always making eye contact. The victim told officers that they would barricade themselves inside their house, and occasionally put windchimes on the door handles as an extra alert.

Slofkowsky received probation and a deferred judgment for the 2021 charge and recently was found guilty of violating his probation and the no contact order that was put in place due to initiating a conversation with the victim at a Marion County business. On Thursday, a Marion County District Court Judge revoked Slofkowsky’s probation and sentenced him to 80 days in jail for the stalking charge, and 15 days for the violation of the no contact order.

Slofkowsky will serve these sentences consecutively for a total of 95 days, be required to pay a $855 fine, and the no contact order will be continued for five years. Slofkowsky will receive credit for 34 days time served.
