An Ottumwa man was arrested by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office for eluding and speeding charges.

On Thursday evening, a Marion County Deputy observed a vehicle traveling at an excessive speed eastbound on Highway 163 outside of Pella. The Deputy tried to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle failed to pull over and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit continued into Mahaska County and ended when the vehicle was disabled after striking stop sticks deployed by the Oskaloosa Police Department. The driver of the vehicle, Blaise Donnejour, age 31, of Ottumwa, was arrested by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office for Speeding, Violation of Restricted License, and Eluding. Assisting agencies in the pursuit included the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office, and the Oskaloosa Police Department.
