It was the first time this spring the two Pella track and field teams combined together for an outdoors event, and also marked the debut competition outside for the girls as they traveled to Dallas Center-Grimes Saturday.

The Dutch boys were 4th and the girls placed 7th in a field that only included 4A teams outside of the green and white at the DCG Classic. Marissa Ferebee continued her torrid start to 2024, qualifying for her second Drake Relays race with a Blue Standard in the 1500 meters (2nd – 4:42.27), which came after she broke her own school record for the second time this spring in the 3000 meters, earning victory in that race (10:08.75).

Pella’s boys had the other event victories for the Dutch, which included the Sprint Medley Relay (Roose, Misterek, Hugan, Mullens – 1:38.19), Hanson King in the shot put (56-02), and Canaan Dunham in the 3200 meters (9:29.01).
