The Simpson baseball team split their doubleheader on Saturday over Luther, falling in game one 8-3 but winning 5-4 in game two as heard live on 94.3 KNIA. The Storm fell behind 3-0 in game one before scoring their first run, and trailed 3-1 after five. A pair of errors led to four Norse runs in the seventh, and Simpson never recovered. In game two, Luther again got ahead early but a pair of bases-loaded walks put Simpson ahead, and a Sam Campin Double and Ian Baldwin single put them up 4-2. Luther tied the score, but a Drew Carlson RBI single in the eighth gave Simpson the lead, and Dante Dolash earned the save to secure the win. Simpson is now 8-13 overall and 1-5 in American Rivers Conference play, and will next play a single game at Nebraska Wesleyan on Tuesday.
