Pella’s boys soccer team found a bounce back to end the second week of the season as they knocked off Carlisle 2-1 Friday night at home.

Carlisle took advantage of a quick corner kick in the 4th minute of the match and caught the Dutch unprepared, scoring on a header and going up 1-0. Emmanuel Diers came on as forward later in the first half and added extra energy and speed up top. His pressure led to the Dutch getting the ball inside the Wildcats box, and forward Chase Hamilton was taken down, giving Pella a penalty kick. Teddy Apostolopoulos scored in the 17th minute of the match to tie it up.

Late in the first half, Pella was again threatening and Caleb Kalkwarf sent a long throw-in into the box, where it was sent home by Apostolopoulos, making it 2-1 in favor of the Dutch.

Pella is 2-2 overall and hosts DCG on Tuesday.
