Fifth grade students from Jefferson Intermediate School in Pella were among those taking in the rare solar eclipse Monday afternoon. The classes — joined by a few other students and staff in 4th and 6th grades from the building, were able to take in the celestial experience with special glasses in hand. The students were able to observe the approximately 85% totality in Pella.
