The Melcher-Dallas Girls Track and Field Squad finsihed ninth at the East Union Relays on Monday while the boys scores was not official at the end of the meet. Some of the highlights for the Saint girls were a 2nd place finish by Hailey Stegman in a season best time of 5:47.09 in the 1500 and a 3rd place finish for Trista Hansaker in the 100. Gabby Overgaard placed 4th in the discus with a PR of 95 feet 11.5 inches and Karsyn Mateer tied for 4th with her personal best in the high jump of four feet eight inches. The 4×100 team also placed 4th with in :57.27. Coach Amy Stuart told KNIA Sports the team of Paetyn Anderson, Gabby Overgaard, Madisyn DeJong and Trista Hansaker ran their best time in several seasons. Some of the boys highlights were C.J. Smith in the 100 placing 3rd with a time of :12.60. Smith was also 3rd in the 200 with a time of :25.46. Kael Caikoski was 3rd in the 400 with a time of :55.40. In the field events C.J. Smith made it 3 3rd place finishes with a bronze medal in the long jump with a leap 17 feet 2.75 inches.
