The Indianola School Board approved the FY25 budget at their meeting Monday, setting the Property Tax Levy Rate of $17.92814 per $1,000 of valuation. Superintendent Ted Ihns tells KNIA News the tax rate went slightly down from last year.

“I think what most people are going to be excited about is the tax rate went down a little bit. I think that’s important to know that we are trying to fund our school systems and fund our programs without increasing taxes. I think Johna and our new School Business Official Chad Vink have done a really nice job of trying to balance that out and making sure that our tax rate didn’t go up, while we are still able to offer the quality programs and services for the students and our families of the Indianola Community School District.”
