The Norwalk soccer teams both snapped two-game losing skids in a big way on Tuesday night while the girls golf team placed second in a conference invitational.

Boys Soccer wins 4-0

The Warrior soccer boys scored four times after intermission to earn a 4-0 win at Pella Christian, improving to 3-3 overall and 2-0 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. Tyden Eng delivered his first goal of the season for Norwalk, Monjil Rai and Jonah Sandhoff scored their first career goals and Eli Scavo added the final goal of the night. Warrior assists went to Scavo, Sandhoff and Jace Davis. Eng led the team with three shots on goal and Jacoby Robbins recorded one save in his third shutout of the year.

Norwalk coach Dustin Kralik tells KNIA Sports that “(the Eagles) put a lot of numbers behind the ball and made things tough for us. In the first half we didn’t handle it well. The second half we were more patient and got things going.”

The Warriors’ next game is Friday against Ankeny at 5:30 as part of the West Des Moines Valley Invite.

Girls Soccer wins 7-0

The Class 2A fourth-ranked Norwalk girls soccer team also pulled away in the second half during Tuesday’s 7-0 shutout of Pella Christian. The Warriors scored five of their seven goals after halftime, improving to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the Little Hawkeye. Unofficially, Braelyn Clark and Karina Garcia led the Warriors with two goals and two assists each. Also scoring goals were Anna Larson, Reese Trebilcock and Avery Drymon. Emmory Toppenberg made three saves in goal for the shutout. Norwalk plays at Southeast Polk on Thursday night.

Girls Golfers 2nd in LHC Meet

The Norwalk girls golf team placed second in the first of three regular season Little Hawkeye Conference tournaments held Tuesday at Willow Creek. Indianola won the meet with a 344 team score, followed by Norwalk’s 368 and Pella with a 369. Warrior freshman Evelyn Kinney placed fourth individually with a round of 88 and sophomore Addie Smith shot an 89 and finished sixth following a playoff. Also breaking 100 for Norwalk were Allie Soukup with a 95, Lillian Garvey 96 and Mariola Torro Abad 97. The Warriors will return to Willow Creek Golf Course on Monday for a 17-team tournament.
