The Simpson softball team ran their winning streak up to 18 games with a doubleheader shutout sweep over Nebraska Wesleyan Tuesday 8-0 and 9-0, while the baseball team also earned a sweep with wins on the road 7-3 and 6-5.

The Storm softball team got a home run from freshman Katie Shaner as she smacked a three-run home run in the bottom of the second, and got another home run from Alexis Ehlers as they scored early and often. The Storm are now 23-5 on the season and 6-0 in conference play, and have a crucial doubleheader on the road at Loras today.

The Storm were up 7-0 in the first contest highlighted by a Joel Sampson two-RBI double and an Ian Baldwin RBI triple. Easton Dunwoody got the win on the mound. The Storm had to mount a comeback after trailing 3-0 after the top of the second inning, however a Nate Cagley two-run homerun and a Dalton Ferrin RBI single tied the score. The Storm fell behind 5-4 late, but a Will Carlock sacrifice fly tied the score, and they got the game winning hit in the eighth from Tyson McAlexander. The Storm are now 11-16 overall and 4-8 in conference play, and they host Loras for a three-game series beginning Friday.
