A busy week of spring athletics continues for Pella Christian, with five teams competing today.
The Eagles tennis teams are back on the courts this afternoon, squaring off in Little Hawkeye Conference matches against Newton. The girls tennis team, who is coming off of an 11-0 sweep of Saydel Monday, will travel to the Aurora Heights Tennis Courts in Newton this afternoon. Looking to erase the taste of being swept 11-0 by Pella on Tuesday, the Pella Christian boys tennis squad will host the Cardinals on Eagle Lane.
After getting just one meet in during the opening two weeks of the season, the Eagles track and field teams will run in their second meet this week tonight. Both squads will make the short trip across Lake Red Rock this evening, to compete in the Panther Relays at Knoxville. On Tuesday, the PC boys claimed second place in their home coed meet, while their girls team took third.
The Pella Christian girls soccer team will also be in action tonight, hosting Des Moines Christian. The Eagles, who hold a 4-2 overall record on the spring, will try to bounce back from Tuesday night’s 7-0 loss to Norwalk. The Lions are 4-1 on the season, after winning three consecutive shutouts by a combined score of 16-0 against Van Meter, Winterset, and ADM.
The Pella Christian tennis matches and track and field meet tonight begin at 4:15 pm, while the Eagles girls soccer team’s home game is slated to start at 5:30 pm.
