The Indianola Fire Department again saw a record number of callouts over 2023, growing their calls from 2022 by 3%, after an 11% increase from 2021 to 2022.
Chief Greg Chia tells KNIA News the department received 2,983 calls in 2023, with nearly 83% of those being EMS callouts. Chief Chia said the department has also done a record number of training and have reduced response time to an average for EMS and fire calls to just over seven minutes.
