Four Indianola spring sports teams were in action on Thursday evening, with both track and field and soccer teams competing.
The Indianola boys soccer team fell to Carlisle 2-1 in non-conference action. The Indians fell behind 2-0, but fought back to get within a goal after a penalty kick conversion by Allan Marrtinez, and despite the Indians fighting back constantly throughout the match were unable to equalize. Indianola falls to 2-5 on the season, and will compete in the Scarlet Classic Tournament tomorrow.
The Indianola girls soccer team dominated Des Moines East 8-0. The Indians stellar offensive output included a hat trick by Remy Sivertsen who added three assists on the night, two goals by Lake Martin, and goals by Leia Graham, Ella Trotter, and Lauren Burk. The Indians have won their second straight game by eight or more goals and are now 3-4, and will host Pella on Tuesday.
The Indians boys and girls track and field teams were at the Panther Relays in Knoxville, with the boys finishing in fourth place with 93 points, and the girls in sixth with 67 points.
Top finishers for the boys included Hayden Schulte placing first in the 200m and finishing 2nd in the 100m, and the Distance Medley team placed 2nd. The girls had top finishers including Abbie Kluver placing 2nd in the Discus, Aubrey Griffin 2nd in the Long Jump, Distance Medley placing 2nd, and the 4x400m Relay Team placing 2nd.
