Knoxville High School is gearing up for their prom, which is taking place tomorrow night.

The theme for this year’s prom is Disco and the formal event will happen at the high school from 7:30-9:30 pm. Today is the last day that juniors and seniors planning to attend prom can purchase tickets, and they are available online. Tickets are available for juniors and seniors, but freshman and sophomores can attend if they are attending with a junior or senior.

Promenade will start at 6:30 pm and will be held in the high school gym until 7:30 pm, allowing family and members of the community to watch attendees walk the carpet as they enter prom. Families and community members wanting to watch the promenade can park in the student lot located on the KPAC side of the high school. Valet parking will be available and Adalily will be taking pictures of those in the promenade. Knoxville High School junior class sponsor and prom organizer Bridgette Jackson encourages those attending the prom to also attend after prom.

“After prom gives us the option of letting the kids go out and have fun, but also keeping them contained in the community. We don’t usually have a lot of problems with kids going and doing things they aren’t supposed to be doing, so that’s the intent of after prom, to just carry them over to do something fun until the wee hours of the morning.”

After prom will start at 10:30 pm with the doors locking at 11:00 pm.
