Tulip Time isn’t the only event Pella Historical Museums has been ramping up for, as King’s Day prepares for its return. Celebrating the Dutch King’s birthday, Executive Director Jessi Galligan invites the community to join them, whether it be for the daytime or nightlife events, on Saturday, April 27th.
“King’s Day is something we’ve attempted to do in the past, it’s been a long dream of Pella Historical to get this festival going and unfortunately weather has gotten in the way, other things have gotten in the way, but this is the year, it’s gonna happen. So King’s Day is a celebration in the Netherlands, celebrating the birthday of their king, and we are bringing that festival to Pella. It is a time when everyone is wearing orange, everyone is partying, and we’re gonna have both daytime events and nighttime events as well to have a little something for everyone.”
Daytime events for families will be held in the Pella Historical Village from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., while the evening activities for adults will be held from 6 to 10 p.m.
Galligan encourages all participants to put on orange for their events. Find out more about Pella Historical Museums and their upcoming activities and events before and during Tulip Time at their website, pellahistorical.com.
