The Knoxville School Board will hold their second and final certified budget public hearing on April 22nd.
This is part of a new process set by the state legislature, and the first public hearing relating to the certified budget was on Monday. Knoxville Community School District Business Manager Craig Mobley says this is a way for the community to voice their opinion.
“The state legislature wants us to be even more transparent than before. We’ve always had a public hearing about it, but the new mailings that went out from the county auditor on that and then having an additional public hearing gives the public a chance to voice what their opinions are on property tax rates.”
This hearing will be held at the district office at 5:30 pm on the 22nd.
