Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig visited Weiler on Thursday to learn more about the Knoxville based manufacturer.

Naig went on a tour of the facility and spoke with Weiler Owner and Founder Pat Weiler, Megan Weiler Green, Joel Weiler, and other staff members about the company, their growth, employment, products they manufacture, and their internship program, among  other topics. The Weiler team told Naig about innovative ways they are continuing to develop a strong workforce, and their desire to bring their employees to live in Knoxville. Naig said he was interested in hearing ways they have developed their workforce and attracted employees into the area.

“This is an impressive company, one that is growing significantly. Weiler is a great employer in the Knoxville area, but really the region. You have folks driving in from quite a ways here, and yet they have challenges just like a lot of employers, especially manufacturers when it comes to recruiting, especially welders and machinists. I was just really interested in hearing the solutions, and creative things they’re doing to develop skills within their workforce, but also attract people into the area.”
