The Norwalk boys tennis team and boys soccer team both competed in tournament play on Saturday.
Bush/Stockwell place 1st in doubles
The Warrior tennis boys participated in the Johnston Invite along with Ankeny and Waukee, placing fourth with five match victories. Norwalk’s No. 1 doubles team of Adrian Bush and Braylon Stockwell highlighted the Warriors’ day by placing first in their bracket. Wyatt Coborn placed third in Flight 2 singles and the team of Eli Mills and Drew Lents placed third in Flight 3 doubles.
Norwalk returns to action on Tuesday, hosting Pella Christian in a Little Hawkeye Conference dual at 4:15.
Boys Soccer falls to Millard West
The Norwalk boys soccer returned to the West Des Moines Valley Tournament on Saturday and lost a 1-0 decision to Millard West out of Omaha. Millard West scored the only goal of the match in the first half. The Warriors attempted seven total shots and three shots on goal but were unable to find the back of the net. Warrior sophomore goalie Jacoby Robbins made three saves on the day.
Norwalk finished 0-2 in the tournament, also losing to Ankeny 2-1 following a PK shootout on Friday. The Warriors will take a 3-5 overall record into Monday’s 7:00 p.m. conference game at Newton.
