The Central College women’s golf team shaved seven strokes off its first-round score but remained 15th in the 21-team Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling Sunday.

Central shot 338-331-669 as a team. The host school, No. 12-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University, took the title at 288-293-581. The only other American Rivers Conference team in the field, Wartburg College, remained 17th at 350-344-694.

Competing at the par-72 Ironwood Golf Course, senior Mackenzie Biggs fired a 76 to finish at 78-76-154, tying for 16th in the 36-hole tourney as she nears the end of a stellar career. Parker Stout shot 83-84–167, Peyton Bytnar had 87-82–169, Lydia Grond shot 90-89–179 and Rachel Sohn shot 92-91-193.

The Dutch close the abbreviated spring season with the Battle at Bos next Saturday and Sunday at Pella’s par-72 Bos Landen Golf Club.
